ER versus Urgent Care

ER

When Should You Go to an Emergency Room?

For life-threatening illnesses and injuries, including chest pain, significant shortness of breath, severe head injuries, and severe lacerations go directly to an emergency room or call 911.
West Ocean City Injury & Illness Center does not replace the emergency room for life-threatening emergencies. Instead, we are a quality resource for your unexpected non-life-threatening medical problems. When you visit us, you avoid the prolonged wait and the high cost of an emergency room.
As members of the community with families of our own, we understand that it is often difficult to find a doctor or to schedule an appointment for an immediate, non-life threatening medical problem or injury. That is why we are committed to responding to this community-wide need by providing an array of medical services to make quality care more accessible and convenient.
